The 2024 Golden Globe Nominations were announced on December 11 with two new categories, and the results were filled with popular films such as “Oppenheimer” and “Barbie”. The award show will be streamed live on CBS and Paramount+ on January 7 at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET. The awards will honor achievements in film and television, and many well-known actors and actresses received nominations, such as Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, and Pedro Pascal.
Among the packed list of nominees are categories such as Best Motion Picture, Drama for “Oppenheimer” and Best Television Series, Drama for “The Crown”. Film buffs will be familiar with the nominees for Best Picture, Animated like “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” and Best Original Score, Motion Picture. “Barbie” by Billie Eilish and Finneas was nominated for Best Original Song, Motion Picture.
These nominees include exciting titles for Best Picture, Non-English Language, including “Io Capitano”. Additionally, there were new categories introduced this year including Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television. This year’s awards show seems promising with many individuals and films striving for recognition. Awarding not only popular blockbuster films but independent and foreign language films, the diversity of the awards show is promising.
