A malnourished puppy named Louie, found inside a porta-potty two months ago in Fort Wayne, Indiana, has found his forever home after being taken in by Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control. After a month in a foster home, Louie was deemed ready to find his forever family. The shelter searched for a home with older children and at least one other dog to help Louie adjust and learn how to be a dog. Ultimately, Louie was connected with Dawndi Cuney, who has another rescue dog named Georgia, making them the perfect match.
According to Cuney, Louie is a “perfect angel” and has been trained well by his foster family. While Louie’s exact birthday is unknown, Cuney plans to celebrate him on February 14th, in honor of his heart-shaped nose. Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control expressed their gratitude for the support shown for Louie and their Angel Fund, which provides funds for animals in need of medical care. They also thanked Louie’s foster family for helping him develop important skills and confidence.
Those interested in donating to the Angel Fund can do so via the shelter’s website. Louie’s journey from a neglected pup in a porta-potty to finding a loving forever home highlights the importance of animal welfare and the impact of community support in helping animals in need.
