Sheridan Media Reports Eleven North-Central Wyoming High School Football Players Chosen for 2024 Shrine Bowl Game


High schools in Sheridan and Johnson Counties are set to make a strong showing at the upcoming 2024 Wyoming Shrine Bowl Football Game. A total of 11 players from Sheridan, Big Horn, Tongue River, and Buffalo High Schools have been selected to represent the North Team in this annual all-star game. The game serves as a fundraiser for the Shriner’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The players selected from the region include Dominick Berrettini, DJ Elchlinger, Alex Haswell, Dane Steel from Sheridan High School, Kiefer Dunham, Drew Heermann, Gavin Stafford from Big Horn High School, Caleb Kilbride from Tongue River, and Will Hammond, Eli Patterson, Lance Rabel from Buffalo High School. Additionally, Tanner Gillette of Buffalo will serve as the North Team’s trainer, and Nadeen Dunham of Buffalo and Carsyn Thompson of Big Horn will be the student trainers.

The North Team is led by coach Rob Hammond of Buffalo, with assistant coach Ross Walker also from Buffalo. The North currently holds a 26-20-3 lead in the series, but the South claimed victory last year. The game is scheduled for June 8th at Natrona County High School in Casper, with practices beginning on June 1st.

This event not only showcases the top high school football talent in the state but also raises funds for a noble cause, making it an important and exciting event for the local community to support and enjoy.
