Camden-Wyoming’s Senior League baseball team defeated MOT with a score of 10-1 on Sunday evening, forcing a second championship game to determine the District I title. The rematch is set to take place on Monday at Camden-Wyoming at 7 p.m. The winning team will secure a spot in the state tournament for 14-16 year olds, starting on July 7 at Newark National.
Camden-Wyoming, with a record of 3-1, managed to secure their victory with standout performances from Dennis Wilson, Logan Simmons, Makai Parker, and Connor Heritage, each contributing two hits. Pitchers Quin Collin, Cole Beaver, and Zayne Collins combined to limit MOT to only one run. On the other side, MOT’s Adam McDowell and Thomas Finnegan showed strong pitching, striking out nine, while Matthew Kane and Jackson Honeycutt each had two hits in the game.
The intense competition and high stakes have created an exciting finish to the District I championship, with both teams giving their all for a chance to advance to the state tournament.
