Pro-Palestinian Non-Aligned Movement Withholds Support for Kamala Harris

The Uncommitted Movement of pro-Palestinian Democrats has announced that it will not be endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris due to her refusal to change her policy on weapons or make a clear statement in support of existing U.S. and international human rights law. The group expressed disappointment in Harris’ campaign for overlooking anti-war voices and courting Dick Cheney while sidelining disillusioned voters. The group emphasized the importance of stopping Donald Trump, urging voters not to support third-party candidates that could inadvertently boost his chances. Green Party nominee Jill Stein and left-wing candidate Cornel West have been actively recruiting voters sympathetic to the Palestinian cause. The Uncommitted Movement emerged as a result of dissatisfaction with this year’s Democratic presidential primaries, with many voters selecting the “uncommitted” option on ballots in response to President Joe Biden’s support for Israel’s actions in Gaza. While the group strongly prefers Harris over Biden, they are disappointed by her lack of support and engagement with Palestinian Americans. Despite not endorsing Harris, the movement is encouraging supporters to vote against Trump and avoid third-party candidates. The group remains committed to the Democratic Party, even in the face of pressure from pro-war forces like AIPAC.
