Inside Peek at Garrett Spielman

Garrett Spielman, a Wyoming native, has successfully integrated into the University of Wyoming men’s basketball program under head coach Sundance Wicks. Spielman, a 6-foot-7 guard/forward, has impressed Wicks with his work ethic and character, despite their hometown rivalry. Spielman, along with several new players from diverse backgrounds, is coming together to form a cohesive team for the 2024-25 season.

Spielman, a true freshman, is embracing the challenge of transitioning from Wyoming high school basketball to Division I level. He has been working hard in the strength and conditioning program to improve his game and contribute to the team. His sister, Samantha, is also a student-athlete at UW, adding to the family connection within the university’s sports programs.

Wicks, known for his passion and dedication to his players, recognizes Spielman’s potential and values his hard work on and off the court. With the regular season opener approaching, Spielman is focused on giving his best effort and supporting his team in any way he can. Fans can expect to see Spielman and his teammates in action as they face Concordia-St. Paul on Nov. 4 at the Arena-Auditorium.

For those interested in supporting student-athletes like Spielman, the 1WYO organization was created to promote local charitable organizations and develop Wyoming student-athletes through the NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) program.
