Trump and Harris take campaign trail to North Carolina and Wisconsin

In a new ad from the progressive evangelical group Vote Common Good, featuring George Clooney, male voters are reminded that they can vote however they choose, even if it differs from their Republican friends. The ad shows a man deciding to vote for Harris after seeing his daughter in the polling place. Clooney narrates the ad, emphasizing that voting choices are private and urges viewers to vote for Harris/Walz.

The group also released a similar ad narrated by Julia Roberts, targeting women voters and emphasizing the importance of their right to choose in the voting booth. Both ads aim to encourage voters to break with Republican friends and family members if they choose to do so.

Doug Pagitt, an evangelical pastor and executive director of Vote Common Good, states that the ads are meant to empower voters to make their own decisions in the face of pressure from the MAGA movement. Vote Common Good was established in 2018 as a progressive response to Trump’s support among conservative evangelical Christians, who largely supported him in the 2016 and 2020 elections. The organization seeks to provide a space for voters to make independent decisions, even if they differ from their usual political alliances.
