Return to Philly Gives Doug Pederson Hope for Jaguars Success

Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Pederson will be returning to Philadelphia on Sunday to face a surging Eagles team without at least one of his top wide receivers. The Eagles, who are on a three-game winning streak, are just a Hail Mary away from taking the lead in the NFC East. Led by quarterback Jalen Hurts, the Eagles are coming off a dominating win against the Cincinnati Bengals, with Hurts scoring four touchdowns (three rushing). Running back Saquon Barkley has been a key player for the Eagles, surpassing 100 scrimmage yards in six out of seven games. The Eagles have a strong rushing game, ranking second in the league with 165.9 yards per game.

On the defensive end, the Eagles will be facing a struggling Jacksonville defense that ranks 29th in scoring and total defense. The Jaguars, who lost a close game to the Green Bay Packers last weekend, have also been dealing with injuries to key players like receiver Christian Kirk. Pederson, who coached the Eagles from 2016-2020 and led them to a Super Bowl victory, is looking forward to his return to Lincoln Financial Field. Despite the challenges the Jaguars face, Pederson remains hopeful for the return of some key players, including running back Travis Etienne Jr.

The Eagles hold a lead in the all-time series against the Jaguars, having won the last four meetings. With both teams looking to secure a win on Sunday, the game promises to be an exciting matchup with Pederson’s return adding an extra layer of anticipation.
