In a break from Thanksgiving tradition, the Washington State Cougars will not be facing off against the University of Washington this year. Instead, the Cougars will be hosting the University of Wyoming Cowboys at Gesa Field in Pullman. WSU head coach Jake Dickert, who previously coached at Wyoming, sees today’s game as a chance for redemption after two disappointing losses.
With a record of 8-3 this season, the Cougars have the opportunity to reach double-digit wins, something only seven teams in program history have achieved. They will also be honoring their 17 seniors before the game, recognizing their contributions to the program over the years.
On the other side, Wyoming has had a challenging season, but freshman quarterback Kaden Anderson has shown promise in recent games. With Anderson’s status uncertain due to injury, junior quarterback Evan Svoboda may take the field against the Cougars.
Despite Wyoming’s struggles, the team has shown resilience with wins over Air Force and New Mexico. Running back Sam Scott has been a standout player for the Cowboys, leading the team in rushing yards. Today’s game will be a test for both teams as they look to end their seasons on a high note.
