The University of Wyoming Offers Wildlife Conservation Opportunities to Students
Students at the University of Wyoming have the chance to participate in wildlife conservation and management through the Wyoming Wildlife Fellowship program. This collaboration between the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources aims to prepare students for careers in wildlife and fisheries management through hands-on education and work experience.
Each year, students can apply for paid summer internships with Game and Fish, where they work on various projects related to fish, wildlife, and habitat. Past fellows have been involved in mule deer research, habitat restoration, public education, and fish surveys. Fellows also receive a stipend, commit to volunteer service hours, and complete seminars to enhance their learning experience.
Applications for the 2025 cohort of fellows are now open, with a deadline of March 15. Any student at the University of Wyoming with an interest in conservation or wildlife is encouraged to apply. This program provides a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience and network with professionals in the field.
