Wyoming football players claim thefts after playing Spartans – NBC Bay Area

The University of Wyoming football team faced a tough loss on Saturday against San Jose State University, as well as an additional setback when several players reported that their personal items and sports gear were stolen from the visiting players’ locker room. San Jose State University police are investigating the theft and will review surveillance camera video footage to help identify suspects.

Athletes and coaches from other programs at San Jose State expressed disbelief over the incident, stating that they never leave their valuables unattended while at practice. Derek de Lemos, head coach of the lacrosse program, mentioned that it is disheartening to lose personal belongings, especially when away from home.

Despite creating turnovers and blocking a field goal in the first half, the Wyoming Cowboys were unable to secure a victory against the San Jose State Spartans, ultimately losing 24-14. Wyoming’s defense struggled to contain San Jose State’s offense, allowing over 300 yards in the first half alone. Although Wyoming achieved a season-high of 310 passing yards, their lack of rushing yards limited their offensive capabilities.

Coaches at Wyoming have not provided any comments regarding the incident or the game. The University of Wyoming football team faces an uphill battle as they work to regroup following the losses suffered on and off the field.
