Nine Cowboys Selected for All-Mountain West Football Teams


Wyoming Cowboys football players were honored by the Mountain West Conference with nine selections to the All-Mountain West teams for the 2024 season. Kicker returner Tyler King was named to the First Team, while offensive guard Jack Walsh, tight end John Michael Gyllenborg, and linebacker Shae Suiaunoa earned Second Team honors. Five players, including nickel Wrook Brown, defensive end Sabastian Harsh, wide receiver Jaylen Sargent, and center Nofoafia Tulafono, were named Honorable Mention.

Tyler King led the conference in kick return yards, while John Michael Gyllenborg was the highest graded tight end in the Mountain West. Linebacker Shae Suiaunoa led the Cowboys in tackles and was a semifinalist for the Butkus Award. Offensive guard Jack Walsh did not allow a sack all season and ranked as the fourth-best guard in the conference.

Honorable Mention selections included Wrook Brown, who led the team in interceptions, Sabastian Harsh, who was a top tackler amongst defensive ends before an injury, kicker John Hoyland, who set a school record with 73 field goals, wide receiver Jaylen Sargent, who led the team in receiving yards, and center Nofoafia Tulafono, who started all 12 games and had a high pass block grade.

The Wyoming Cowboys had a strong showing in the All-Mountain West selections, showcasing the talent and hard work of their players throughout the season.
