The Laramie County Library is currently hosting the Spark! Places of Innovation traveling exhibit from the Smithsonian, showcasing innovation in rural America in areas such as social, technological, artistic, and cultural heritage. Supported by Wyoming Humanities, the exhibit aims to bring the Smithsonian experience to places in Wyoming. In addition to the exhibit, the library will be hosting a chain reaction contraption workshop led by the creator of “Contraption Masters” on December 14th and 15th. Participants will have the opportunity to design and build their own Rube Goldberg machine during the workshop.
Blithe McAndrew, the Events and Exhibitions Manager at the library, hopes that the exhibit and workshop will spark conversations about innovation in Laramie County’s community and the role of invention and ideas in shaping the future. The Spark! exhibit can be viewed on the first floor of the Laramie County Library until January 14th. Those interested in attending the free contraption workshop can find registration information on the library’s website. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore and participate in the innovative spirit of rural America.
