The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has recognized the Wyoming Swimming and Diving teams for their academic achievements during the Fall 2024 semester. The Cowgirls earned a team grade point average of 3.49, while the Cowboys achieved a GPA of 3.17, qualifying both teams for the Scholar All-America award.
To be considered for this award, teams had to achieve a GPA above 3.0. A total of 654 teams, including Wyoming, recorded a GPA of 3.30 or higher, earning them a spot on the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings list. Additionally, nineteen conferences had all their active men’s or women’s teams recognized on the Scholar All-America Team list.
Samantha Barany, the Executive Director of the CSCAA, praised Wyoming’s commitment to academic excellence, noting that their achievement sets a standard of excellence for both academic and athletic success. Coach Dave Denniston, the coaching staff, and the entire team were commended for their exceptional dedication to representing their institution in the pool and in the classroom.
The CSCAA, founded in 1922, is dedicated to advancing the sport of swimming and diving with coaches playing a central role in leadership, advocacy, and professional development. Wyoming’s Scholar All-America award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the student-athletes and coaching staff.
