The lawsuits were filed under an extension of the Violation of New York City Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, allowing survivors of gender-based violence to bring claims previously barred by the statute of limitations. The plaintiffs’ lawyers are seeking justice and accountability for the women who have come forward with their experiences of assault by the Alexander brothers.
