8 Rivers and Wood Sign Pre-FEED Agreement for Projects in Wyoming

8 Rivers Capital, LLC has awarded Wood, a global consulting and engineering leader, a contract to conduct preliminary front end engineering and design (Pre-FEED) activities for a carbon capture project in Wyoming. The project, a joint effort with PacifiCorp, will utilize 8 Rivers’ Allam-Fetvedt Cycle technology and direct-fired supercritical CO2 turbines developed with Siemens Energy. The captured carbon dioxide will power the turbines, generating affordable and reliable electricity. This project aims to improve existing power assets in Wyoming, providing economic and workforce opportunities for the state.

8 Rivers President and Chief Development Officer, Damian Beauchamp, emphasized the role of technology in strengthening Wyoming’s energy independence and economic resilience. Wood’s Vice President of Thermal Power, Frank Kalany, expressed excitement for the project, highlighting Wood’s experience in power generation projects.

Wood’s experience with gasification design in the United States and global resources were key factors in their selection for the Pre-FEED activities. Founded in 2008, 8 Rivers Capital is dedicated to developing clean energy technologies to lead the industry towards achieving net zero emissions. The project represents a significant investment in Wyoming’s energy sector, driving innovation and economic growth for the state.
