The University of Wyoming Cowgirls have had a strong 2024-25 season, earning themselves a spot in the inaugural Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament. With a 22-11 overall record and finishing as conference runners-up, the team has received a No. 4 seed and will be facing off against Texas Tech in the first round.
Despite a heart-breaking loss in the Mountain West Championship game, the Cowgirls have won 12 of their last 15 games and are entering the postseason with plenty of momentum. Led by Mountain West Player of the Year Allyson Fertig and Defensive Player of the Year Emily Mellema, the team has a strong lineup with many contributors.
The date and time of the opening-round contest are yet to be announced, but as the higher seed, Wyoming will be hosting the game. Fans are excited to see how the Cowgirls will perform in this postseason tournament and are looking forward to cheering on their team as they continue to showcase their talent on the basketball court.
