The state of Wyoming has delayed a lawsuit that seeks to overturn two recently signed abortion restrictions. The lawsuit, which was filed by Wellspring Health Access, the only clinic in the state that provided procedural abortions before the laws went into effect, has been moved back to Natrona County District Court by the state. Wellspring had previously moved the case to Teton County due to delays in Natrona court, but now it will be up to Teton County District Judge Melissa Owens to decide if the lawsuit will be relocated again. Since closing its doors to comply with the new laws, Wellspring says it has turned away 99 potential patients. Judge Owens had previously struck down Wyoming’s two near-total abortion bans in 2024. This latest development comes as Wyoming Public Media and Jackson Hole Community Radio partner to cover state issues both on air and online, with funding from the Corporation For Public Broadcasting. Stay tuned for more updates on this ongoing legal battle.
