Winners of the Pinewood Derby in Wyoming Tribune Eagle

Local youngsters put their engineering skills to the test at the annual Pinewood Derby race held at the local community center last Saturday. The event, organized by the local Boy Scouts troop, saw participants ranging in age from 6 to 12 racing carefully crafted wooden cars down a specially designed track.

The young engineers spent weeks designing, carving, and perfecting their miniature cars in preparation for the race. Each car was judged based on its design, craftsmanship, and speed. The competition was fierce as the cars zoomed down the track, with spectators cheering on their favorite racers.

In the end, it was 10-year-old Timmy Johnson who took home the title of Pinewood Derby champion. His car, painted in bright blue and adorned with racing stripes, crossed the finish line in record time, securing his victory. Second place went to 8-year-old Sarah Adams, whose pink and purple car impressed the judges with its sleek design. Rounding out the top three was 11-year-old Jack Smith, whose red and black car wowed the crowd with its speed.

The event was a fun-filled day for both participants and spectators, with families coming together to cheer on the young racers. Organizer and Boy Scouts leader, John Anderson, expressed his pride in the participants and their hard work leading up to the event. Congratulations to all the winners and participants of this year’s Pinewood Derby race!
