Press Release: Community Clean-Up at Rendezvous Ponds
RIVERTON, WY — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department, in collaboration with Angling Wisdom, is organizing a community clean-up event at the Rendezvous Ponds, scheduled for May 31 at 9 a.m. Local volunteers are encouraged to participate in this initiative aimed at enhancing the recreational area for families and outdoor enthusiasts.
Game and Fish Access Coordinator Jon Desonier emphasizes the significance of this event, stating, “This is a great opportunity to clean up an often overlooked recreation area. The Rendezvous Ponds provide angling opportunities for families but are frequently neglected.” The clean-up will precede Free Fishing Day on June 7, thereby ensuring the ponds are welcoming for visitors.
Patrick Edwards, host of the Angling Wisdom Podcast, adds, "The clean-up day has been a success the past few years. It is vital to teach people about stewardship of the land and water." To show appreciation for volunteers, lunch will be provided post-clean-up, along with chances to win fun prizes.
Special thanks are extended to Wyoming Waste Systems for sponsoring the event with a dumpster donation. Interested participants must pre-register by May 30 to be eligible for the prize drawing. For further details and registration, please visit Angling Wisdom’s website or contact Jon Desonier at 307-463-7861.
