Early Sunday morning, a house explosion in Washington Township, New Jersey, resulted in the tragic deaths of a man and a woman, whose identities remain undisclosed. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. at the intersection of Orion Way and Tranquility Court, prompting a swift response from fire crews. Surveillance footage captured the moment the home erupted into flames, although police have classified the event as an “intense fire” rather than an explosion.
Neighbor Susan Pinto was watching a movie with her boyfriend when she suddenly heard a loud blast and witnessed flames shooting from the property. Describing the experience as terrifying, she immediately called 911. Firefighters arrived within minutes, but by then, the house was nearly consumed by fire. The blaze also caused damage to two neighboring homes.
A local resident shared fond memories of the man who lived in the destroyed home, mentioning their friendly exchanges during his walks with his dog. “He was a great guy to talk to,” the neighbor stated.
Authorities have not released further details about the deceased individuals, and the cause of the incident is still under investigation.
