WYOMING MEN’S BASKETBALL WELCOMES DYNAMIC TRANSFER Damarion Dennis
Laramie, Wyo. – The Wyoming men’s basketball team has bolstered its roster with the addition of Damarion Dennis, a guard transferring from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Dennis made his commitment to head coach Sundance Wicks on April 3. Seeking a more prominent stage in college basketball, Dennis expressed confidence in his decision. “Just talking with Coach Wicks, I felt like it was a good decision for me and my family,” he stated.
After an impressive freshman season at Corpus Christi, where Dennis averaged 6.7 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.3 assists while shooting 48.3% overall and 38.7% from beyond the arc, Wicks reached out to him. Dennis subsequently visited Laramie and was captivated by the university’s athletic program and community spirit. “The fans are always going to love you, they’re going to love the energy that you bring,” Wicks assured him.
Despite the colder climate of Wyoming, Dennis embraced the change. “I really don’t care about the weather. I like the town; it’s a great college town,” he remarked after touring the facilities, including the impressive High Altitude Performance Center.
Dennis, who grew up in Dallas and played high school basketball in San Antonio, is also looking forward to following the Wyoming Cowboys football team, noting his former school lacked a football program. He joins Buddy Hammer Jr. as the only public transfers to the Cowboys for the upcoming 2025-26 season, promising to add energy and defensive prowess to the roster.
With Dennis on board, Wyoming fans eagerly await the upcoming basketball season, anticipating the impact he will make both on and off the court.
