Eileen "Boots" Marie Snyder, Beloved Community Figure, Passes Away at 95
Worland, WY – Eileen "Boots" Marie Snyder, a cherished matriarch and community stalwart, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her family. Born on June 22, 1929, in Greybull, Wyoming, Boots lived a vibrant life, moving with her family across Northern Wyoming during her father’s career with Marathon Oil.
After graduating from Deaver High School in 1947, she began working as a bank teller in Worland, where she met the love of her life, John "Bill" Snyder. Their marriage on April 8, 1951, led to a fulfilling life together, raising two children and enjoying nearly 60 years of marriage until Bill’s passing in 2011.
Boots was deeply involved in her community, serving at the Methodist Church and participating in the Eastern Star and Republican Women. Her generous spirit extended to quietly funding marriage licenses for local couples.
An avid supporter of her grandchildren, she was known as "Wyoming’s Greatest High School Football Fan" in 2012, never missing a game. Boots cherished time at the family cabin and relished her nightly tradition of sipping an ice-cold Pepsi.
She is survived by her son John Snyder, son-in-law Wally Jorgensen, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and relatives. The funeral service will be held on May 23, 2025, at Zion Church.
Memorial donations may be made to Zion Church or Shriners Children’s Hospital. Online condolences can be shared at Bryant Funeral Home.
