April 12, 2025 — Sheridan’s basketball stars have shone brightly as the 4A and 3A All-Conference and All-State awards were announced. In the 4A Boys category, Sheridan’s Connor Bateson, Beck Haswell, and Nate Miner have all secured All-State honors, with Bateson taking home the accolade of 4A East Defensive Player of the Year. On the girls’ side, Mesa Hanft and Avery McMullen of Sheridan celebrated All-State accolades, with Hanft also recognized as the 4A East Player of the Year and the overall Player of the Year in 4A. Representing Buffalo in the 3A Boys category, Brady Engling earned All-State honors, while Karly Davis stands out as a three-time All-State selection on the girls’ side.
In a remarkable moment for the Class 1A Arvada-Clearmont Panthers, Caden Manor clinched a buzzer-beater victory against Campbell County’s freshman team on February 11, ending a daunting 90-game losing streak that stretched back to December 2020. The thrilling finish saw the game wrap up at 35-32, although the Panthers concluded their season with a 1-19 record.
In collegiate basketball, the University of Wyoming Cowgirls are set to kick off their postseason against Texas Tech in the Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament. The game is scheduled for a 6:30 PM tip-off and will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 106.3 FM. Additionally, Utah State will represent the Mountain West Conference in the NCAA Tournament, facing UCLA later today.
