HPQ Silicon Inc. Partners with Pragma Industries for Green Hydrogen Innovation
Montreal and Lyon, June 10, 2025 — HPQ Silicon Inc. (TSX-V: HPQ, OTCQB: HPQFF, FRA: O08) has embarked on a strategic partnership with Pragma Industries, in collaboration with French technology firm NOVACIUM SAS, to enhance the commercialization of its METAGENE™ green hydrogen production systems. This initiative aims to meet the escalating demand for sustainable energy solutions.
The agreement facilitates the integration of METAGENE™ technology, which allows for the autonomous, high-pressure production of green hydrogen using a safe aluminum-silicon alloy, without the need for electricity or costly infrastructure. This innovative approach can generate 1.25 m³ of hydrogen per kilogram of fuel, making it highly suitable for light mobility applications like hydrogen-powered bicycles.
Pierre Forté, CEO of Pragma Industries, emphasized the potential of METAGENE™ in addressing "last-mile" transportation challenges, asserting its ability to provide a sustainable, decentralized solution that doesn’t rely on traditional, high-cost hydrogen delivery methods.
Additionally, Pragma’s involvement in the MANGABHY project, focused on developing specialized fuel cells for drones, aligns with METAGENE™ technology’s capabilities to meet the stringent demands of such applications. Forté remarked, "The ability to generate hydrogen on demand opens unprecedented opportunities for hydrogen-powered drones."
HPQ’s President and CEO, Bernard Tourillon, highlighted the transformative capacity of METAGENE™ for green mobility and drone sectors. The partnership plans to initiate a pilot phase between late 2025 and early 2026, targeting a hydrogen production capacity of 10 kg per day for vehicle and drone fleets.
This collaboration signifies a major advancement in sustainable energy technology, aiming to reshape energy solutions across both civil and industrial markets.
