Warm Temperatures and Thunderstorms Expected in Southeastern Wyoming

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The National Weather Service in Cheyenne predicts warm temperatures and the likelihood of afternoon and evening thunderstorms throughout southeastern Wyoming for the coming week.

Today, Cheyenne will reach a high near 86 degrees, with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 2 and 4 p.m. Evening temperatures will drop to around 54 degrees under partly cloudy skies. A similar pattern will continue Saturday, with a high of 87 and a 20% chance of precipitation.

Sunday brings the first significant uptick in storm activity, with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms expected, alongside a cooler high of approximately 82 degrees. Monday will see further temperature dips, hitting around 78, with the chance of precipitation increasing to 50%.

From Tuesday to Thursday, a gradual warming trend is forecast, with highs in the low to mid-80s and the continued possibility of scattered afternoon thunderstorms.

Despite the forecast of daily rain opportunities, a Red Flag Warning has been issued for parts of Carbon County due to heightened fire danger, especially in areas west of the Laramie Range.
